Survive The Swarm Essence: Sources and Spending Uses

Essence is one of Survive The Swarm's progression currencies, with two spending destinations: eggs, which hatch into pets carrying permanent buffs such as extra damage, faster attack speed, or added knockback, and new classes, each of which comes with its own weapon set and a unique special ability. This distinguishes it from Coins, which cover general shop purchases and stat upgrades between runs. Because codes reward both currencies together, redeeming them supports immediate strengthening and longer-term progression options at the same time.

The documented way to receive Essence is redeemable codes. Two codes were reported active as of September 10–11, 2026, each granting 25 Essence:

Some guides list RINGS, GEAR, and BETA as expired, while at least one guide lists no expired codes, so verify their current status in-game rather than treating them as a dependable Essence source.
