Survive The Swarm Campaign: How To Find Your Next Map and Reach the Gauntlet

How Campaign progression works in Survive The Swarm, how to identify the maps you still need to clear, and how each run should end in a banked, usable reward.

Campaign is Survive The Swarm's map-progression route toward a 20-map Gauntlet, and the way to know where you stand is simple: check which campaign maps remain uncleared. A long survival time in a run does not unlock the next goal — only working through the maps does. So before you queue up, look at your uncleared campaign maps, pick the next one, and make that map your clear objective for the run.

A run only counts when it ends in the lobby

Progress is judged by returning to the lobby with banked rewards, not by a bigger unbanked counter or minutes survived. That has a direct consequence for how a campaign attempt should end:

  1. Beat the boss — the main fight of the map.
  2. Treat the ghost phase that follows as a new risk decision. After the boss falls, ghosts arrive, and surviving longer only increases unbanked reward until you take the portal.
  3. Bank the run through the portal while you can still reach it.
  4. In the lobby, complete the separate claim, open, equip and upgrade actions, then enter again with one improvement and a clear next objective.

How to end the post-boss phase

Once the boss is down, the bank decision is the useful thing to change if progress keeps slipping away. Use a comfortable exit and keep your class movement available while a safe destination remains. Banking earlier — while an exit path is still open — means the next run starts with an actual upgrade to work with, instead of a counter you never cashed in.

The loop that carries you to the Gauntlet

Each run should leave you stronger than the last:

  • Beat the boss on your target map.
  • Bank the run through the portal while you can still reach it.
  • In the lobby, claim, open, equip and upgrade.
  • Queue up again with one improvement and your next uncleared map as the objective.

Repeat that cycle, uncleared map by uncleared map, and working through the campaign is what moves you toward the 20-map Gauntlet.
